The sympathy of the community is extended to her, New Year's and week -end guests with Mr, and Mrs. Jirn Visit Rupert House Mission LAKELET-Mrs, Levi Dyer, Miss Ethel Byer and Master Lloyd Byer journeyed to Rupert House, Quebec, leaving Dec- ember 13 and returning Christ- mas Day. They visited with Mr. and Mrs. Eldon Byer and family who are stationed at the mission post there, They travelled by train to Moosonee, then by plane to Ru- pert House, a distance of 880 iniles. They report that our weather seems springlike in comparison to conditions there, LAKELET Miss Linda Webber has re- turned to Cairenport, Sask., after spending the holidays at her home here. Mr. and Mrs. Klaus Duewell and sons of Chatham visited with former neighbours here during the holidays. H. H. Wightman Passes in B.C. Henry Herbert Wightman, who was horn in this area in 1878, passed away quietly on the afternoon of December 27 at Terrace, 13,C. Mr, Wightman, whose wife died in 1961, is survived by a daughter Helen, of San Francis- co; two sons, Morris of Terrace, B. C. and Gordon of Dorval, Que; three grandchildren, Edgar, Jane and Peter Wightman, all of Terrace; and one sister, Mrs, George (Mary) NicKeirnan of Paradise, Calif, A Masonic service was held prior to funeral service at Knox United Church, on Thursday afternoon. REUNION FOR SAILORS OF WARSHIP PLANNED Former crewmen of HMCS Athabaskan, destroyed in the English Channel in 1944, a re trying to arrange a reunion of the 85 survivors for May 2, 1965. The 85 were taken prisoners of war and liberated May 2, 1945. The ship carried 144 crewmen down with her. 1-I. FORDWICH-Following an ill- ness of several months, Wilmot Clifford Craig of Toronto died last Wednesday in Western Gen- eral Hospital. Mr. Craig, son of the late William Craig and Jenny Bunke; was born 54 years ago in How - ick Township. His wife is the former Doris Pawson. They were married in Listowel and resided here until 1940. He was employed at the. Acme Bolt and Screen factory in Toronto. He is survived by his. wife, W erten were Mr. and Mrs, Max Lind and family and Mrs. Geo. Lind of Tara, Mr. and Mrs. Ray Fleischauer and family of Strat- ford, Mr. and Mrs. C. Graff of Hamilton and Mr. and Mrs, Bill Johnston and son, Toronto. Mr. and Mrs. Tom Hutchi- son, Mr, arid Mrs. Bill Hutchi- son and family and Mrs. Ida Gallagher were Sunday guests with Mr, and Mrs. Ross Nuhn of Gowanstown. Mr. and h:rs. Frank Lepping- ton of Donegal spent several days at their home here. Mr. and Mrs. Carl Jacobson, David and Kurt, returned home over the week -end from the Western Provinces where they had visited relatives for two weeks. The funeral was held Satur- day afternoon from the home of his brother, 10th concession of Howick. Burial was in Ford- wich Cemetery. Rev. A.C. Coles officiated. The pallbearers were Aitch- eson Wallace, Frank Graham, Walter Harrifield, Hugh Mc- Leod, Norman Harding and Er- nie Dinsmore. Flower bearers were Glenn Johnston, William McElwain, Robert Gibson, El- mer Harding, Fredd Lott and John Leppington. CHRISTMAS EUCHRE AND DANCE HELD BELGRAVE-The Christmas euchre and dance, sponsored by the Arena Board was held last Wednesday in the Foresters' Hall. Music was by the Ranch Boys.
