Mrs. John Harper spent last ween with Mr. and Mrs. Robert Duncan of Hamilton. During the week she also visited in Burlington, Stoney Creek, and Niagara Falls. We are glad to report that Mr. Henry Johann is in some- what improved condition after recent serious illness. Some young people from the community were among the students from Wingham District High School who attended the .school matinee performance of Shakespeare'. Our congratulations to Bel - more pupils who claimed prizes at Saturday's Teeswater Fair. Brenda Finlay, won• two firsts for Grade I art; Eileen Darling, first for Grade 3 art; Darlene Ballagh, first for wall plaque; Beverley Ballagh, first for date squares; Jean Hohn - stein, second for Grade 8 art; Grace Hohnstein, 3rd for Grade 5 weaving; and Allan Dickson, 2nd for breadboard. Ste- ven was the minister in charge of the morning service, Guest speaker for the evening service was Rev. Harold Pillen of Pine River. Mr. and Mrs. Carl Douglas and Wayne were Sunday dinner guests of Mr. and Mrs. William King of Brussels. Mrs. Douglas was guest soloist at evening an- niversary services in Brussels Presbyterian Church. Miss Isobel Darling ofKitch- ener spent the week -end at the Carrick home of her mother, Mrs. Adam Darling. Sunday vi- sitors at the same horne were Mr. and Mrs. John Tyler of St. Marys, Misses Mary and Tillie Far- rell of Clifford visited on Sun- day with Mr. and Mrs. Alex Sangster. Mr, and Mrs. Ken Dickson, Mary and Joan, and Mrs. J.B. Dickson were Sunday guests of the former's aunt, Mrs. Barbara Dawson, in Toronto. The sympathy of the com- munity is extended to the Hark- ness families, on the acciden- tal death of a nephew, Mr. Wil- liam Jacques of Howick Town- ship.
