Morris Authorizes CPR To Remove Danger Bell
Morris Township Council
passed a motion to authorize
the Canadian Pacific Railway
to remove the present danger
bell and light on completion of
the improvements to sight lines
at the crossing south of Blyth
when that body met last week.
A by-law was passed author-
izing Morris to enter into agree-
ment with Ken Sholdice for re-
forestation of part of lot 15,
Con. 4.
Radford Construction Ltd.,
was awarded the contract to
supply, crush and deliver gra-
vel at 74¢ per cubic yard, sub-
ject to the approval of the dis-
trict municipal engineer.
Murray Reid was given the
contract for spraying cattle un-
der the warble fly act at 10¢
a head and Charles Souch was
appointed warble fly inspector.
The powder will be purchased
from Bluevale Milling Co. and
Belgrave Co-operative Assoc.
It was moved that a by-law
to provide for road expenditures
to $58,000 be passed, subject
to the approval of the district
municipal engineer.

day night at the Institute hall
in Lakelet.

LAKELET--The regular
monthly meeting of the Mc-
Intosh United Church Women
was held Tuesday of last week
at the home of Mrs. Elmer Has-
kins, with 17 ladies answering
the roll call with a thought for
Easter.
Mrs. Alan Darling was in
charge of devotions, and the
Scripture was read by Mrs.
Robt. Wood.
Members were reminded of
the annual meeting of Bruce
Presbyterial United Church Wo-
men, to be held in St. Paul's
United Church, Walkerton on
March 31 and voting delegates
were appointed to attend.
Several committee reports
were heard, and another fin-
ished quilt was displayed. The
ladies have been kept busy
quilting with several more still
to be completed.
The study period from "The
Word and the Way" was taken
by Mrs. James Renwick, assist-
ed
ssisted by Mrs. Elmer Haskins.
The ladies consented to
cater to a wedding in the near
future.
The meeting closed with
prayer by the president, and
lunch was served by Mrs, Alan
Darling, Mrs, Walter Renwick
and the hostess.

WHITECHURCH--On Satur-
day evening a progressive
euchre party was held in White-
church Community Memorial
Hall in honour of Mr. andMrs..

ing cards besides many other
folks not in the play, Those
winning euchre prizes were
high lady, Mrs. Don Martin;
low lady, Mrs. Jack Putdon,
high man, Ralth Krotf of
Woodstock, low man, Bill Gow,
Auburn; lucky chair, Mrs. Tom
Magoffin.
Lunch was served. Mr. and
Mrs. Ulavach were called to
the platform and Mrs. Ira Wall
read an address and Mrs, Ruth-
erford Reavie presented them
with a gift of money.
They also received many
gifts from their friends at the
same time.
