W HITECHURCH--The annual
meeting of the Library Board
was held on Thursday evening
at the home of Mrs. Doris Wil-
lis.
Mrs. George Fisher was ap-
pointed chairman, the position
having been held previously by
the late Albert Patterson.
The minutes were read by
the secretary -treasurer, Mrs.
Willis. She reported the circu-
lation of books in 1962 as1072
and in 1.163, 1113 books.
Twenty-five families paid a
fee of 250 per family. There
was a balance on hand of
$82.00 after all debts were
paid.
It was decided to dispense
with the Ways and Means Com-
mittee this year. The follow-
ing officers were elected:
Chairman, Mrs. George
Fisher; Mrs. Doris Willis, sec-
retary -treasurer; board mem-
bers, J. D. Beecroft, David
MacDonald, Mrs. Garnet Far-
rier, Mrs. Dawson Craig, Mrs.
Albert Coultes, W. I. represen-
tative, John Gaunt, Mrs. Ezra
Scholtz, Mrs. Victor Emerson.
The librarian's salary is
$100.00, the secretary's salary,
$10.00 and rental space for
books $20.00. Mrs. George
Fisher was re -appointed as audi-
tor.

The meeting was adjourned
and Mrs. Willis served lunch.
She was extended a vote of
thanks for her hospitality by the
members.
HOCKEY BANQUET
W ROXETER--Gorrie- Wrox-
eter Squirt and Pee Wee hockey
teams had a banquet in Wrox-
eter United Church on Satur-
day. Awards were presented for
the most valuable players,
which went to Barry O'Krafka
for Squirts and Jack Watson for
Pee Wees.

day evening the Y, P. S, held
its meeting in the United
Church Sunday school room,
under the leadership of Presi-
dent Elwin Moore. The meet-
ing opened with a sing song and
Mrs. Garnet Farrier was pianist.
Miss Beverley Soloman gave the
call to worship and Scripture
reading. Miss Edna Wall led in
prayer.
Misses Edna Wall, JanisFar-
rier and Sandra Fisher sang, ac-
companied by Mrs. Garnet Far-
rier. Billie Wall gave the story
on Japan.
The roll call was answered
by 23 repeating a versa from
the Bible. A hymn was sun,: and

Died Sunday
WIIITECHURCH--J. Warren
Sanburn passed away at Brooe
Haven Nursing Home, Wingham,
on Sunday morning. He was in
his 82nd year and was the sonof
Mr. and Mrs. Charles Sanburn,
East Wawanosh Township.
He leaves to mourn his loss,
one sister, Miss Laurinda San -
burn of Wingham, and one
brother, Meldrum of Turnberry
Township.
The service was held Tues-
day afternoon at R.A. Currie &
Sons funeral home, Wingham,
with interment in Wingham
Cemetery.

ed her mother and sister one
day last week in Whitechurch.
Ross Toman's visited Mr.
Henry Sage, Listowel, on Sun-
day evening.

bert Howes. Miss Mary Anne-
Deachman, who has spent the
past two months here, returned
home with her parents.

Mrs. Sam Ovington spent
the week -end with her daugh-

Mrs. Malcolm Newton on Sun-

Mr. and Mrs. Chas. McKay,
Danny and Billy were in Han-
over on Sunday where they visit-
ed Mrs. McKay's parents, Mr.
and Mrs. Frank Cobb.
Mrs, Wilbert Stephens has
returned to her home at Rupert,
Quebec, after spending the past
couple of months with her aunt,
Mrs. Frank F. Wright.
Mrs. S. M. Burwell, Denver;
Colorado, spent last week with
her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Geo.
Galbraith. Her son Ricky visit-
ed over the week -end with rel-
atives at Brussels.
Mr. and Mrs. George Gal-
braith visited Sunday afternoon
with their daughter, Mrs. Reg.
Watson and Mr. Watson, Brus-
sels.

and Mrs. Wesley (Mike) New-
ton, the former Alberta Haugh,
which was held in Wroxeter
Community Hall Friday eve-
ning with Wilbee's orchestra
supplying the music.
Miss Connie Clarke read the
address and John Gibson present-
ed the couple with a gift of
money.

misfortune recently to break
her ankle.

of their mother, who for many

mitted Sunday to St. Joseph's
Hospital, London, where she
underwent surgery on Monday.
