When Santa Visits
WHITECHURCH—Calvin-
Brick Sunday School held a
Christmas concert on Wednes-
day evening, under the man-
agement of Sunday School tea-
chers and their assistants, Mrs.
Ronald Coultes, Mrs. Gordon
McBurney, Mrs. Norman Coul-
tes, Ivan Dow, Mrs. Gilbert
Beecroft, Mrs. Ken Mason and
Mrs. George McGee.
The chairman for the eve-
ning was Gilbert Beecroft.
Songs, choruses, dialogues and
recitations were enjoyed. The
beginners gave an especially
pretty number, "Tippy Toes".
Mrs. Gordon McBurney gave a
Christmas poem. Mrs. Gil-
bert Beecroft gave a story —
"The Indians Version of Christ-
mas".
The Y.P.S. presented a
two -act play "A Visit of In-
spection" with Doreen Patter-
son, Ruth Coultes, Linda Coul-
tes, Nancy Mason, Peter Ma-
son, Hugh and Ronald McBur-
ney, Jim Robertson, Jim Tay-
lor, Garry Jamieson, David
Beecroft and Grant Coultes tak-
ing
aking part.
At the close of the program
Santa arrived with gifts and
treats for all the Sunday school
scholars and for many of the
older folks.

A Fine Program
WHITECHURCH—On Wed-
nesday evening S.S. No. 10
(Whitechurch school) pupils
presented their Christmas con-
cert, under the supervision of
their teacher, Mrs. Ken Wheel-
er and music teacher, Mrs. Wil-
liam Scott.
Russel Ross was chairman.
The singing of the National
Anthem opened the concert.
Opening choruses by the school
were "Good Evening" and" Hel-
lo". The opening recitation
"Merry Christmas to You" was
given by Stephen Ritchie; a
dialogue, "Careless Mother",
by Nancy Swan and Douglas
Morrison and "Jolly Old St.
Nicholas" was sung by the jun-
iors.
Recitations were given
throughout the program by Jim
Henderson, Billy Rawn, Arnold
Morrison, Lawrence Norman,
Ronnie Henderson, Earl Thomp-
son, Ronnie Soloman and Ray-
mond Kuiper. A pre schooler
recitation was given by Bobbie
Ross and a reading, "My Busy
Mother" by Brian Rintoul.
A dialogue, "All's Well
that Ends Well" was by Diane
Swan, Beverley Rawn, Howard
Neable and Keith Henderson; a
singing game "Jimmy Crack
Corn" by the juniors and a dia-
logue, "The Naughty Mouse"
by Kathy Soloman, Darlene
Simpson, Bernadette Rawn, and
Barbara Ritchie. "The Friendly
Beasts" was sung by Joyce Tif-
part

"Christmas Song" was sung by
Bernadette and Beverley Rawn.
"The Last Tickets" was pre-
sented by Brian Rintoul, Keith
Henderson, Janis Farrier, Shir-
ley Tiffin, Denise Norman,
Sandra Rawn and Harvey Craig.
"Christmas in Killarney" was
sung and danced to by John
Gibbs, Shirley Tiffin, Harvey
Craig, Donna Hand, Keith
Henderson, Janis Farrier, Brian
Rintoul, Diane Swan, Howard
Neable and Charles Thompson.
The Nativity Scene includ-
ed songs and speeches and the
closing recitation was given by
Douglas Ross. The program
closed with the chorus, "Merry
Christmas to All".
Mr. Ross, on behalf of the
school board, announced the
annual meeting. Santa then
appeared, greeting young and
old as he entered, and had gifts
for all the children present.
The proceeds were over $30.00.
