Morris FOA Seeks New Secretary
BELGRAVB—The directors of
the Morris Federation of Agri-
culture met at the home of Mr.
and Mrs. Ted Fear on Thursday.
Ted Fear presided. The minutes
were read by Mrs. Fear, secre-
tary -treasurer, who also gave
the financial report. Pastpresi-
dent, Stan Hopper thanked the
members for the co-operation
given him in the past two years.
A motion was passed to adver-
tise for a new secretary.
Stan Hopper reported briefly
on the Ontario annual meeting
and a discussion was held on
some of the resolutions. Jim
Spivey was named vice-presi-
dent, It was reported that the
Junior Farmers are inviting the
Senior Farmers to attend the
Junior Farmers' electrical
course to be held in the agri-
cultural board rooms at Clinton,
starting January 8 and meeting
leach Wednesday for nine weeks.
The course will he open to far -
I niers in Huron County. Names
of those wishing to attend must
be in the agricultural office by
December 13. A discussion was
held on "Farmers' Week 641"
to he held February 24-28 at
the Ontario Agricultural Col-
lege at Guelph.
Alpert Bacon reported brief-
ly on the activities of the Hog
Producers in the county and
spoke of the county hog vote to
he held in the spring.
Mrs. Mel Mathers appealed
for good used clothing for child-
ren or adults and said the arti-
cles could be left with her and
she would see that they were
made use of in local homes.
Harold Johnston invited the
group to his home for the Janu-
ary 16th meeting. Lunch was
served by the hostess.

Next Meeting
BELGRAVE—The C,G.I.T.
of Knox United Church met for
its regular meeting on Thurs-
day in the church school room.
Rhonda Fear led in games.
The meeting opened with the
C.G.I.T. hymn, purpose, basic
Scripture and unison prayer. The
treasurer's report was given by
Joyce Procter, who stated that
$31.35 was sent to Unicef,
Janette Johnston will con-
duct the games at the next
meeting which will be held on
December 19 and Mrs. Arthur
Jackson will conduct a lanyard
service. The vesper service
will be held on December 22
and Mrs. John Nixon will be
speaker. The stuffed animals
that were not sold at the bazaar
are to be given to the children
in the hospital.
Brenda VanCamp led in a
sing -song. A practise washeld
for the candlelighting service.
The group divided for Bible
study. Marilyn Taylor andJoan
Bosman conducted the worship
service. Marilyn gave the call
to worship followed by the
hymn "Joy to the World", and
Joan read the Scripture. Mari-
lyn gave a meditation. Wendy
Fear and Donna Grasby receiv-
ed the offering and Marilyn led
in prayer.
Weekly Euchre
BELGRAVE—The Euchre Club
met in the community centre
last Wednesday with six tables
in play: Prizes were won by
Mrs. Herson Irwin, high lady;
high man, Herson Irwin; novel-
ty lady, Mrs. Earl Noble, novel-
ty man, Gershom Johnston; low
lady, Mrs. Cora McGill; low
man, Bert Thompson.
The last euchre of the year
will be held December 11, to
resume on January 8th.

an was hostess for the Christmas
meeting of the Evening Unit of
the U. C. W.last Wednesday.
Mrs. Albert Bieman opened the
meeting with the carol, "0,
Little Town of Bethlehem" , fol-
lowed by a Christmas reading.
The nativity story was read by
Mrs. Harold Vincent. The
poem, "If You Would Know",
was read by Mrs. Albert Bie-
man and "Angels from the
Realms of Glory" was sung. A
Christmas story, "Room for All
of Us", was read by Mrs. Laura
Johnston.
Business was conducted by
the leader, Mrs. Stan Hopper.
Minutes were read by Mrs. Ken
Barbour, and the treasurer's re-
port by Mrs. Alan Dunbar. Pen-
ny collection and visits tosick
and shut-ins were recorded. The
general meeting was announc-
ed for Thursday, Dec. 12, and
members are asked to please
take the articles for the bale to
be sent to Mrs. Llyle Hopper
overseas as soon as possible.
The roll call for the January
meeting will be articles for
crafts for the patients at Gode-
rich Hospital. Mrs. George
Johnston invited the group to
her home for the next meeting,
January 8th.
