O, L, 794 was held at the Wingham Orange Hall on Mon- day, Visitors were County Mas- ter Bro. Ross Errington of Dun- gannon, Bro, Bert Platt of Orangeville and Bro. Bert Hall of Fordwich. After the business session and a few remarks from the visitors there was election and installa- tion of officers with the county master in the chair, Bro, Platt as chaplain and Bro. Hall as marshal. News of Fordv..ich Mrs. Noah Ries accompani- ed her sister, Mrs, Morris Fran- cis of Hanover to Lps Angeles last Thursday, where they will spend three weeks with another sister, Doctor and Mrs, Roy Leach. They left by plane from Malton. Mr. Earl Ridley of London spent a couple of days last week at his home here. Mrs. Melpha Holland of Pal- merston spent one day last week with friends here. Mrs. Winnifred Downey left Saturday for Livonia,. Mich. , where she will spend the win- ter months with her daughter and son-in-law, Mr, and Mrs. Dan Burgess. Mrs. Elsie Strong, Mrs. Ver- na Galbraith and Mrs, Pearl Pat- terson atterson visited one day last week with Mrs. Martha Baker in Wingham, Mr. and Mrs. Crosby Soth- ern spent the week -end in Lon- don with their daughter, Mrs. Rosemary Campbell and with relatives in Strathroy. Mr. and Mrs, Earl Moore at- tended ttended the Denny -Halliday wed- ding held in the Presbyterian Church in Acton, with the re- ception after at the Park View Motel in Guelph and also spent the week -end in. Erin with Mr. and Mrs. Ted Denny. Mr. and Mrs. Wilmot Craig of Toronto were week -end visi- tors with Mr. and Mrs, John Craig. Miss Audrey Ruttan has ac- cepted a position in the office of B. F. Goodrich, Kitchener and commenced her duties this Monday. Mr, and Mrs. Les Loughran attended the wedding of the former's brother in Sarnia on Saturday, Mr, and Mrs, Bob Campbell of Winthrop visited Sunday with Mr. and Mrs. Robt. Hibberd, St. Anne's Guilc Sees Sample of Choir Gowns FORDWICH--The November meeting of St. Anne's Guild was held in the basement of the church. The meeting opened by singing "0 God Our Help in Ages Past", followed by the Lord's prayer. A chapter from the study book, "The Best Ser- mon" , was read by Mrs. Grace Browne. The minutes of the last meeting were read and approv- ed by the assistant secretary, Mrs. Alma Hargrave. Rollcall "My Favourite Hymn" was an- swered by 17 members. Mrs. Lois Simmons gave the treasur- er's report. A short story, "In Time of Remembrance", was read by Mrs. Ann Armstrong. Mrs. Al- ma Hargrave read the corres- pondence. Mrs. Ruby Armstrong and Mrs. Lynn Bunker were elected to purchase two kneeling cush- ions, and two can openers for the church. Mrs. Lynn Bunker read a poem, "To All Parents". Mrs, Ruby Forster had some Christmas cards and hasti notes to display for the W.A. The cards have a picture of the in- terior of Trinity Anglican Church, on the front. Mem- bers of the Guild were given the opportunity of ordering cards if they wished. The president, Mrs. Jean Sothern, closed the meeting with prayer, Mrs. Lynn Bunker then had a contest, sent by Mrs. Helen Leppington, for themern- bers. Lunch was served by Miss Ethna Foster and Mrs. Frances King. Zone Rally at Baptist Church The Bluewater Assoc. of Evangelical Baptists held a zone rally at the Wingham Baptist Church on Monday evening when the moderator, Rev. Ellis Grist of Hepworth, chaired the meeting. Rev. David Clark of South End Baptist Church, Owen Sound offered the opening pray- er and Scripture was read by Rev. John Jones of Mount For- est. Rev. Donald Sinclair, pas- tor of the Wingham church, ex- tended a welcome. Rev. Gordon W. Searle,pre- sident of the Fellowship of Evangelical Baptist Churches of Canada spoke on Stewardship. Mr. Searle said that manypeo- ple do not come to the Lord when asked. It takes the co- operation of everyone working together and each doing his share to carry on the Lord's work. If people don't do His work after they are saved they are chastened by the Lord through various means, and in Judges 5:23, from which the speaker based his talk, thepeo- ple were cursed. Mr. Searle told his audience that the budget is higher be- cause of the great need in for- eign and home missions, New churches are being opened and need help to get started. The membership in the Fellowship across Canada has doubled in the past ten years. This is a time when people are being called to do His work. Representatives attended from churches in Hepworth, Mount Forest, St. Marys,Owcn Sound and Wingham: Lunch was served in the re- cently decorated basement of the church after the meeting and a social time was spent. America FORDWICH—The November meeting of the W.A. of Trin- ity Anglican Church was held in the basement with 11 mem- bers present. The president, Mrs. E. Strong, presided and opened with the hymn, "From Greenland's Icy Mountains;' Mrs, G. Anderson read the Scripture. Roll call was "The Primate's Noon Hour Prayer". The trea- surer reported $95.50 from the bazaar and supper, TheDorcas report was given and donations of clothing for little girls is needed. The Guild treasurer reported that Christmas and everyday cards are on hand and that the church calendar is available, Mrs, G. Anderson reported on the Diocesan semi-annual W. A. meeting held in Sarnia recently. She said that the Anglican Church is very strong in Africa and that more Angli- cans are in church there each Sunday than in all of North America. Mrs. Strong gave the second chapter of the study book "The Church Comes to India". Se- cret Pals will be revealed at the next meeting. Instead of giv- ing gifts something suitable for patients in a mental hospital will be sent.
