Zone Rally at
Baptist Church
The Bluewater Assoc. of
Evangelical Baptists held a zone
rally at the Wingham Baptist
Church on Monday evening
when the moderator, Rev. Ellis
Grist of Hepworth, chaired the
meeting.
Rev. David Clark of South
End Baptist Church, Owen
Sound offered the opening pray-
er and Scripture was read by
Rev. John Jones of Mount For-
est.
Rev. Donald Sinclair, pas-
tor of the Wingham church, ex-
tended a welcome.
Rev. Gordon W. Searle,pre-
sident of the Fellowship of
Evangelical Baptist Churches of
Canada spoke on Stewardship.
Mr. Searle said that manypeo-
ple do not come to the Lord
when asked. It takes the co-
operation of everyone working
together and each doing his
share to carry on the Lord's
work. If people don't do His
work after they are saved they
are chastened by the Lord
through various means, and in
Judges 5:23, from which the
speaker based his talk, thepeo-
ple were cursed.
Mr. Searle told his audience
that the budget is higher be-
cause of the great need in for-
eign and home missions, New
churches are being opened and
need help to get started. The
membership in the Fellowship
across Canada has doubled in
the past ten years. This is a
time when people are being
called to do His work.
Representatives attended
from churches in Hepworth,
Mount Forest, St. Marys,Owcn
Sound and Wingham:
Lunch was served in the re-
cently decorated basement of
the church after the meeting
and a social time was spent.
