Poor Sense
Of Humour
WHITECHURCH--On Mon-
day evening as Rev. and Mrs.
Angus MacKay, missionaries
from Jhansi, India, were get-
ting out of their car at Chal-
mers Presbyterian Church, their
car and others parked nearby
were spattered by tomatoes
thrown, apparently, by Hal-
lowe'en pranksters. Though
none of the juice reached their
clothing, Mrs. MacKay's glasses
were spattered.
The same evening, as Mrs.
Garnet Farrier was walking
along Highway 86 toward the
church she was struck on the
neck by tomatoes thrown from
a passing car.
The folks in the village feel
deeply sorry that this sort of
treatment has been accorded
persons who deserve respect as
do returned missionaries. Sure-
ly there are laws in this fair
Canada of ours to deal with
such barbarous acts as this and
to protect people as they jour-
ney to a place of worship. Rev.
MacKay remarked that he had
never experienced anything of
this nature in India.
