were in Wingham when the cornerstone for the new
Citadel was laid two weeks ago by Commissioner W.

Candleabra, mums and
gladioli, made an attractive
setting in St. Andrew's Presby—
terian Church on Saturday after -
14911, August 3, for the wed-
ding of Joyce Ardonna Moffat,
to Wayne Inglis Woods, The
bride is the daughter of Mr.
and Mrs, Robert Moffat, Wing -
ham, and the groom is the son
of Mr, and Mrs, Walter Woods,
Wingham. Rev, G. L, Fish
officiated.
Harold Victor Pym played
traditional wedding music and
accompanied the soloist, Harry
Leitham of Kitchener, who sang
"The Lord's Prayer" and "O
Perfect Love".
Given in marriage by her
father, the bride wore a formal
gown of nylon organza and net
overskirt featuring a lace scal-
loped neckline accented with
white pearls. The sleeves
tapered to points. The fitted
bodice displayed a beautiful
skirt, highlighted with match-
ing lace appliques and organza
rosettes, A crown of organza
petals and pearls held her el-
bow -length bouffant veil. She
carried a white Bible crested
with red Sweetheart roses and
stephanotis.
Mrs, George Forler of Barrie..
sister of the bride, was maid of
honor, Lorna Woods, Wingham,
sister of the groom, and Lorna
Barry, Blyth, were her brides-
maids. They wore identical
gowns of turquois peau de soie
with matching rosette head
pieces. They carried similar
cascade bouquets of white

St, Paul's Anglican Church
was decorated with baskets of
pink carnations and white
gladioli, and white flowers '
graced the alter on August 3,
for the wedding of Verlie Ann,
daughter of Mr. and Mrs.
Thos. L. Metcalfe of R.R. 2,
Wingham, and Robert Laverne
Toman of Kitchener. The
groom is the son of Mrs. Ran -
and Toman of Milverton, and
the late Mr, Toman. Rev. C.
F. Johnson performed the cere-
mony.
The bridal gown was silk
faille, the neckline of re -
embroidered Alencon lace, a
sleeveless fitted bodice and
the sheath skirt adorned with
matching lace. An overbodice
with three-quarter length
sleeves extended to the bouf-
fant overskirt, culminating in-
to a chapel train, Her large
rose headpiece was held with a
three tier silk illusion hand
rolled veil. Mr. Metcalfe
gave his daughter in marriage.
Miss Karen Michel of Corrie
was the maid of honor and the
bridesmaids were Miss Connie
Taylor of Burlington and Miss
Mary Fisher, Wingham. They
wore identical gowns of tur-
quoise satapeau with scoop
neckline, fitted bodice with
elbow -length sleeves, and the
bell-shaped skirt finished with
a small bow at front waist,
Their matching wedding ring
headpieces held circular veils.
The bride's flowers were a
cascade bouquet of Sweetheart
roses intertwined with white
stephanotis. Her attendants
carried cascades of large white
mums with pink button mums
adding a touch of color.
The best man was David
Whitney of Brunner and the
ushers were Michael Mohr,
Milverton, and Dick Hamilton
of Galt. They wore white
dinner jackets with black
trousers and cummerbunds.
A reception followed at
Danny's Restaurant. The bride's
mother wore a blue lace gown
with white accessories and the
groom's mother wore a copper
sheath with beige accessories.
Following a trip to the Mus-
koka District the young couple
took up residence in Kitchener,
where the groom is employed
by the Bell Telephone Co.

ception was held in the church
parlors where the bride's mo-
ther received, wearing an aqua-
marine silk linen sheath with
empire waistline and matching
jacket, beige accessories and a
corsage of yellow roses. She
was assisted by the groom's
mother, in a navy silk sheath
two-piece dress, with a corsage
of pink roses. For travelling
the bride donned a yellow Ser-
anno suit, black accessories and
a corsage of red roses and ste-
phanotis.
The couple will reside in
Pembroke.
Out-of-town guests were pre-
sent from Toronto, Kitchener,
Barrie, Stratford, Erin, Galt,
Clinton, Bruss' ls, Mildmay and
Lucknow.
The bride is a graduate of
Stratford Teacher's College and
the groom, of Ontario College
of Arts, Toronto,
Stratford Teachers' College,
had been teaching in Burlington
but will teach in Kitchener
this year.
