Wingham Takes
Centralia Team
The Wingham Brophy Good -
years pounded out a 7-3 vic-
tory over the Centralia RCAF
in the Wingham Park on Tues-
day night in Memorial League
Softball. The Goodyears are
now in 4th place in the League
with 3 wins and 4 Losses.
The game was delayed a
half hour because the Airforce
bus broke down on the way to
Wingham.
Hugh MacMillan pitching
for the Goodyears came up with
a good game, allowing the Air-
men only 4 hits and striking
out 12 batters. Errors again
accounted for the runs scored
against the Goodyears.
Alvin Baker was the top hit-
ter of the night with 3 hits,
John Walker had a triple and
single while Barry Fryfogle had
a double and single for the
Goodyears.

Jim Bain put the Goodyears

Bali Team
Needs Support
The Wingham Brophy Good -
years will meet the Godcrich
Bissets in the Wingliam Park on
Thursday (to -night) at 8;30.
The first gartte the Goodyears
had with Goderich resulted in a
win for the Goodyears in the
10th inning, so this promises to
be a good oue.
The Goodyears are playing
a good brand of softball and
would like to see a few more
fans out to appreciate the
games.
When a young lady fell he -
hind with her fur coat payments
the finance company wrote:
"What would your neighbors
think if we found it necessary to
come and repossess your coat;'
In reply, the company re-
ceived the following note: "I
have taken it up with my neigh-
bors as you suggested, and they
all think it would he a dirty
trick.
Schoolmaster: I think your
boy will become a distinguish-
ed man if he lives long enough.
Father: What do you think
he will become distinguished
for?
Schoolmaster: Longevity.
