his talent in comedy. He add-

she is back into night clubs

After viewing the life story
of Sophia Loren, as presented
in the "World of Sophia Loren"
special last week, it is not hard
to see why she is the big star
that she is. As disclosed by
those who have been most close-
ly associated with her in her
work, site 'loves everything she
does' and you could easily tell
that she was enjoying these
television interviews to the ut-
most. A girl who was horn and
raised in Italy, she now makes
most of her films in her home
country. Most of her Americarr
made pictures of a few years
ago turned out to be duds. It
was the Italian picture "Two
Women" that won for her the
Academy Award as best actress
last year. She is now, at 28,
one of the two actresses who
can claim one million dollars
per picture (The other is Eliza-
beth you -know -who!); her big
one this year, which everyone
is expecting will be hot compe-
tition for 'Cleo', is "The Fall
of The Roman Empire". She
may be unequal to La -Taylor in
outward beauty, but I doubt if
Liz could shine like Sophia did
in this production.

Wedding bells have been
ringing loud and clear in show
business circles once again.
Singer Dinah Shore, only a few
days after her divorce from
George Montgomery became
final, married Maurice Smith
in Hollywood. Ile is a 42 -year-
old building contractor and pro-
fessional tennis player from
Palm Springs, Cal. In fact, it
was on a tennis court where
Dinah first met him, when she
was relaxing at one of her fa-
vourite sports. Both have been
married once before. Miss
Shore, 45, has a daughter
Missy, 15, who was her maid
of honor, and a son Jody, 10.
Mr. Smith has two sons, 12 and
5 years of age.

WHAT NAPOLEON DID
TO FRENCH REVOLUTION
The French Revolution took
over France in 1798 in the
name of "Liberty, Equality and
Fratemity." Ten years later,
Napoleon Bonaparte became
first consul of the republic and
in 1804, emperor with absolute
authority. Under Napoleon's
rule, all were equal — but him;
as for liberty, he substituted
efficiency and for fraternity,
imperialism.

Still another singer was
warbling '0 Promise Me', when
petite pop singer Brenda Lee,
17, married her childhood
sweetheart Ronald Shacklett,
who operates a supermarket in
the town where they both grew
up: Nashville, Tennessee.
With her money, they'll be
able to buy a chain of super-
markets! Anyway, all is per-
fect harmony once again in the
music world. Let's hope it
lasts!

Win from Goderich
Bain Breaks Tie
With 3 -Run Homer
Goderich Bissetts visited
Wingham last Friday in Mem-
orial League softball play, and
were defeated by the Brophy
Goodyears 5-2.
Highlight of the game was
when Jim Bain, the star of the
evening, hit a three -run homer
in the 10th inning to break a
2-2 tie and win the game.
Goderich was ahead all the
way to the 8th inning, collect-
ing one run in the first half of
the second and gaining another
in the first half of the eighth.
Ken Saxton then hit a two -run
homer and the 2-2 tie remain-
ed until Bain took over in the
dying moments of the game.
Saxton also had three singles.
Hugh MacMillan did an ex-
cellent job on the mound and
allowed only six scattered hits
to Goderich,
The Goodyears have lost
three games and this is their
second win.
