The Huron County Federa-
tion of Agriculture held its
April meeting, in the Ontario
Department of Agriculture board
rooms last Wednesday, with a
good attendance. As this was
an evening meeting the ladies
were able to attend and provid-
ed lunch.
Seeding conditions seemed
to be very favourable in all
townships. Alf Warner gave a
report on changes in the !log
Marketing Board, and activities
of the Hog Producers in pur-
chasing gilts to be given to the
boys or girls in Huron County
that arc interested in this line
of work.
Bob McGregor gave a report
on l3ccf Producers, and hopes
that they will again affilate
with the Federation of Agricul-
ture. The New Beef Improve-
ment Association wants to work
in the interest of everyone with
no partially shown.
I iorace Delhridgc asked that
more letters be sent to the lion.
W. A. Stewart in regard to the
coloring of margarine. Lloyd
Lovell gave report on sugar
beets, saying that sugar is very
high priced ,and likely to be
for the next year. James
Dunbar reported on a poultry
meeting he had attended with
Mr. Ireland, president of Huron
County Federation of Agricul-
ture, in Toronto on April 3rd,
and hopes more poultrymen
will be interested.
Chairman Elmer Ireland
gave a good report on meetings
he has attended in the past two
weeks, Egg Marketing meeting,
Poultry meeting in Toronto,
Members meeting in Toronto,
CIA Insurance in London and
Toronto.
Harvey Taylor, chairman of
the CIA Insurance Co. said
they are going ahead in leaps
and bounds in Huron County.
They started in this county in
1949 and have made a great
deal of progress, especially in
the last two years.
