FEDERATION PROFILE
Name: Hank Binnedyk
Position: Regional Director, Huron
West Central, to the Ontario Federation
of Agriculture; second vice-president of
the Huron Federation of Agriculture;
HCFA Membership and Insurance
Committee.
Farm and Family: Hank and Yvette
have six children: John, Michael,
David, Joan, and twins Linda and Lois.
They sold their dairy operation in 1985
and have just sold their home farm,
retaining 100 acres in the township of
Tuckersmith which they are cash crop-
ping at the present time. Hank is district
manager for Pickseed.
Views: The total disinterest of both the
federal and provincial government in
assisting agriculture, as well as the drop-
ping of the OFFIRR program and the
T
Hank Binnedyk
lack of change in the crop insurance
program to assist farmers, are major
concerns.
Hank says he doesn't want to see the
re -structuring of regional government
and that farmers need to find the right
people to serve on town councils and
schools boards as well as the federation.
Apathy is one of the biggest problems of
all. Hank can be reached at 522-0416.
