CENTRALIA ISSUES
MANAGEMENT GUIDE
Centralia College of Agricultural
Technology has prepared a "Farm Fi-
nancial Management User's Manual" in
co-operation with the Agricultural Rep-
resentatives Branch of the Ontario
Ministry of Agriculture and Food.
The manual guides a farmer step by
step through examples and worksheets.
After working through the manual, the
user will have a complete annual finan-
cial statement and projection for the
farm.
"We've seen an increase in the need
for farm management training," says
Bill Allen, director of Centralia College,
"which resulted in the development of
this comprehensive user's manual."
Some of the topics covered include
the purpose of the balance sheet and
income statement, cash flow statement
and projection, debt servicing, enter-
prise budgets, and monitoring the farm
business plan.
The manual is being used in several
of Centralia's continuing education
courses in farm business management.

CYGARD TACKLES
CORN ROOTWORM
Com growers now have an economi-
cal option from Cyanamid for corn root -
worm control.
Called Cygard 15G, the new insecti-
cide is designed to provide consistent
rootworm control when applied with an
insecticide bander.
"We saw a need in the marketplace
for an excellent performing, competi-
tively priced granular insecticide," says
Peter Matthewman, marketing manager
for Cyanamid Canada Inc.
In five years of research trials, he
adds, Cygard performed better than
Dyfonate in 91 per cent of the trials, and
was equal to Dyfonate in 9 per cent.
Cygard is formulated on Montmoril-
lonite clay, a top grade carrier manufac-
tured specifically for granular applica-
tion. It is dust -free and free-flowing for
easy calibration and handling.0
