Heifer 60
A gain of $320 to $.800 per heifer!
CO-OP Heifer 60 is Ontario's very
first supplement specially designed
to improve the feed conversion and
average daily gain of heifers from 6
months to calving. The results can
be impressive.
Just 500 grams (1/2 kg) of Heifer
60 pellets per day, fed with grain
and free choice forage, produce
faster growing, bigger -framed
animals. They can be bred two to
four months sooner than heifers fed
on forage alone. Average gain on
the recommended program is .726
kg or 1.6 lbs per day. Average
calving age is 24 months instead of
the 28 -month Ontario average. And
these first-time mothers have the
size needed to calve safely and milk
well.
The earlier start on the milking line
saves between $3.00 to $7.00 a day
per replacement heifer. Over 4
months, the net saving can be as
high as $800 per heifer.
Heifer 60 was developed at
Co-operative Research Farms. The
total feeding program is a direct
result of CRFs new growth
equations. And it is highly

of about 30 cents per day (grain plus
