STOCKYARD GETS
NEW PROPRIETOR
The Brussels Stockyards is getting
another lease on life under the owner-
ship of Gordon H. Brindley of
Lucknow, Ontario.
The Huron County stockyard had its
licence suspended in October and went
into receivership while police investi-
gated fraud charges against former own-
er Klaus Henschel. The fraud case in-
volves about $1 million worth of cattle.
Brindley will take over December
14. His bid of $465,000 was one of three
tenders submitted to the trustees.
Brindley is the owner of the
Lucknow sales yard, which handles
about $50,000 worth of business per
sale. The Brussels yard handles about
$1 million per sale.
The other two tenders came from
Bruce McCall, a former owner of the
yard, and a group of Western farmers.0
