The WSA was also active in getting a new course offered for farm women under the aegis of the Community In- dustrial Training Advisory Commiuee, one of several such committees that have been set up in Ontario counties. The course, called Women's Role in Farm Management, will be held over five weeks, six hours a day for five con- secutive Tuesdays. It begins October 25, 1988. Applications are available from Carol Rock, and applicants are eligible for funding assistance. Another major effort that WSA members are working on is establishing rural child-care in Perth County. The group responsible, Perth Care for Kids, has contacted the Ministry of Commu- nity and Social Services with a proposal and budget for start-up funding. A Resource Centre is planned, and Perth Care for Kids is looking for a location in the Mitchell area. The centre will oversee a child-care registry, an emergency care registry, seasonal care, a mobile toy -lending library, and drop- in centres. Other programs throughout the county will be co-ordinated from the centre. Volunteers from Perth Care for Kids are also providing child-care at the IPM daily from 9 a.m. to 12 noon and from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. As a fund-raising effort, Perth Care for Kids is selling tickets on an easel and supplies, a puzzle, and an assortment of toy farm equipment. Tickets are available from any board member or contact Cindy Bilyea (225- 2173), Lynn DeBrabandere (229-6736), Karen Galbraith (356-2686), or Linda Weitzel (271-8388). Those interested in becoming in- volved with Perth Care for Kids to have child-care available in their community are invited to contact Lynn DeBraban- dere or Linda Weitzel. Perth Care for Kids will also send speakers to any community groups interested in their projects.0 BEST RATES 103: 4 1-4 yr. GJ.C. 111/% 8 5 yrs. G.I.C. CMP.
