Cream Production
a Family Tradition
Elvey Brodhagen
Elvey Brodhagen, chairman of the
Perth Cream Producers, has been pro-
ducing cream all his farming life. His
parents began the tradition 50 years ago
when they were married.
The cream producers of Perth
County, in addition to holding regular
meetings, share educational meetings in
spring and fall with Huron County pro-
ducers.
They are also involved, in conjunc-
tion with the Perth County Milk Com-
mittee, in the education program about
dairying for Perth County public school
children.
Brodhagen, who lives near Rostock,
raises pigs, calves, and poultry on his
farm. The skim milk left over from the
cream shipments is fed to the pigs and
calves.
Vice-chairman of the Perth group is
Chris O'Brien of R. R. 5, Stratford;
secretary -treasurer is Ivan Stueck of R.
R. 1, Gadshill. There are about 120
members of the Perth cream producers
