TV MONITOR HELPS
AVOID PROBLEMS
The closed-circuit systems designed
by Agri -Vision for farrowing, dairy, and
horse barns make monitoring the barn as
easy as turning on your television.
Farmers report that the TV monitor
helps them to detect defective heat
lamps, breeding time, difficult births,
harmful mothering habits, broken wa-
terers, trapped newborns, fire, and theft.
The basic system is a camera housed
in aluminum to protect it from dust and
moisture. The unit will operate in tem-
peratures well below freezing. Kits
come with all the hardware needed for
installation and operation.
A motion -detection alarm system is
optional. If, for example, a newborn
piglet moved into the sensor area (under
the heat lamp), an alarm would sound at
the TV location.
A second system offers, in addition
to the basic components, remote AC
power control from the TV to the cam-
era. While the basic system can be re-
moved from the barn, the camera hous-
ing in the enhanced system has a built-in
heater to keep the camera and lens warm
and dry when the camera is switched off.
For Large maternity pens, an AC plug
receptacle on the housing can be used
for the remote -control of extra lights.
A third system adds a remote -con-
trol overhead track. The camera's off -
on and forward -reverse motion is con-
trolled from the house.
All systems are eligible for a five per
cent rebate and no provincial sales tax is
charged. For more information, contact
Agri -Vision, P.O. Box 51, Alvinston,

ager Dennis Wilcox at 519-898-2198.0
