Mr. Martin says he believes
three-quarters of the traffic in St.
Jacobs is from within a 25 -mile
radius, though there is certainly a sig-
nificant amount of traffic from Toron-
to, London, and surrounding areas. As
a "guesstimate" Mr. Martin says that
the population of the village will swell
on peak days by five to seven thou-
sand. Obviously, this has resulted in
some congestion in the downtown
arca and there is a hope to create more
parking in the underdeveloped area of
the village by the waterfront.
The Ontario Livestock
Exchange, located on the fringe of the
village, has demonstrated the benefits
of continued development in that area.
"In order to sustain yourself, you need
attractions and development on the
periphery," explains Mr. Martin. "The

and do, it could be done in a day. The

browse in, excellent food and accom-
