The annual meeting of the Grey
County Federation of Agriculture was
held at Chatsworth on October 22.
President Murray Clarke, first vice
Agnes Diemert, and second vice Lorne
Eccles were returned by acclamation.
The regional directors for 1987-88
are: North Grey, Case Vanderham; East
Grey, Clay Schwegler; and South Grey,
Bill Pullen.
On November 7, the federation ex-
ecutive and regional directors met with
MP Gary Gurbin (MP Gus Mitges was
unable to attend) to express our objec-
tions to the tax reform proposals. There
are several proposed changes that we do
not agree with, the major one being the
proposal to change from cash to accrual
accounting. We believe that, because of
the way farm business is conducted and
because most farmers do not understand
accrual accounting, we must be able to
continue on a cash accounting system.

Federation of Agriculture held at the Chatsworth Commu-
nity Centre in late October, the Desboro Happy Gang
was the featured entertainment.
