There are others who deserve recogni- tion as well, but these four leaders stand out and were the first to receive this award. COMMITTEES On Monday, November 9, the RRFA held its first meeting under new president George Hyatt. The biggest part of the eve- ning was spent organizing the new commit- tees for the coming year. The entertainment committee will be chaired by Linda Armstrong aided by Allan Teeple and Bob Locking. The membership committee will be headed by Bill Gibson. A new format will be used in the hope that it will involve more District members. The following zone committees were established: Zone I — Bob Locking, Linda Armstrong, and Archie Weirsema; Zone 11 — Kristine Carpenter, Reuben Korb, and Bill Romyn; Zone III — Allan Teeple, Bill Irvine, and Bob LeBlanc; Zone IV — Bill McLain, Glen Galusha, and Gordon Cornell. The Farm Progress and Agri -Food Week committee is once again chaired by Kristine Carpenter. She will be aided by Debbie Zimmerman and Lisa Teeple. The finance committee will be com- posed of treasurer Lisa Teeple aided by Debbie Zimmerman and Kristine Carpenter. A new insurance information committee will be headed by Lisa Teeple, with mem- bers to be chosen as needed. Dean Hodgson will once again head the public relations committee, with members to be chosen as needed. This committee is urged to have more contact with federal and provincial government representatives. Jim Belluz will act as contact person between the RRFA and the Ontario Skills Development Office in Fort Francis. Mem- bers interested in this program should con- tact their local director. Paul Heyens was chosen to serve a two- year term on the Northern Ontario policy committee; Jim Belluz has one year to go. Andy Carpenter will represent the fed- eration on the Arda Pasture committee. Ralph Hunsperger will continue on the veterinary services committee. Discussions were held concerning two new District agricultural organizations, the Farmers' Market and the District Seed Growers' Association. No decision was reached pending further discussion with these groups.
