COMPANY DESIGNS
NEW COULTER -CHISEL
Unverferth Manufacturing of Ohio
is producing a coulter -chisel which
combines heavy, trash -cutting coulters
with chisel -type shanks.
The coulter -chisel is available in 7,
9, 11, and 12 -shank models. The 7 -
shank model features single wheels.
the 11 and 13 -shank models have
tandem wheels, and the 9 -shank model
is available with either wheel option.
The implement's 20 -inch rippled,
self -sharpening coulters are mounted
on 7 1/2 -inch centres in a combination
of 3 and 4 -blade gangs which are
spring-loaded on a common, hydraul-
ically controlled rock shaft, allowing
cutting depth to be changed "on the
go." Because each gang is indepen-
dently mounted and pivotable, the
coulters "walk" around obstructions
and follow high contours individually.
