N4N 1 P9 1-519-364-4413 46 THE RURAL VOICE NEWS STRESS WORKSHOPS TO BE HELD LOCALLY Leslie Rose, co-ordinator of train- ing at the Canadian Institute of Stress in Toronto, will be in Clinton on April 8 and 9 for two workshops, one on stress management and assertive- ness for women and one on stress management and coping skills for rural couples and interested individuals. Rose has a Master's Degree in counselling and human relations and seven years of experience teaching stress management. His workshops emphasize practical skills. The workshop for couples and individuals will be held on April 8 from 7:30 to 9:30 p.m. A cost of $5 per person includes workshop parti- cipation, coffee or juice, and handout materials. The workshop for women will be held April 9 from 9:00 a.m. to 4 p.m. A fee of $30 includes the workshop, coffee breaks, lunch, and materials. Both workshops will be held in the Huronview Auditorium. For more information or to pre -register, call the Huron County Health Unit before April 3 at 524-8301.0 APPLY EARLY FOR SUMMER WORKERS Farmers should apply early if they would like to hire summer workers through the Ontario Summer Employ- ment Program. The program helps to fund summer jobs that would not exist without the assistance of the program. The benefit is a $1.25 an hour wage subsidy where a person aged 15 to 25 (by April 13, 1987) is employed. The program covers employment from April 13 to October 17 and a maximum of 20 weeks of consecutive work is included. Eligible employees must be Ontario residents and cannot be related to the employer. Application deadline is June 5.
