CFA ELECTS NEW
NATIONAL EXECUTIVE
Don Knoerr, a beef producer from
Smithers, British Columbia, has again
been elected to a two-year term as
president of the Canadian Federation of
Agriculture.
First vice-president is Jacques
Proulx of St. Camilla, Quebec.
Proulx is also president of the Union
des Producteurs Agricoles. Gordon
Blanchard of Unifarm in Alberta was
elected second vice-president.
At the annual meeting in Quebec,
the CFA was structurally altered to
provide for a small working executive.
The new executive includes the pres-
ident, the vice-presidents, and four
others elected from the CFA board of
directors — Donald Downe of the
Nova Scotia Federation of Agriculture,
Ray Howe of the Prairie Pools, Jack
Penner, president of Keystone Agricul-
tural Producers, and Brigid Pyke,
president of the Ontario federation.
The CFA now has a three-tier
structure. The national council of 30
members develops policy, the board of
directors, composed of one repre-
sentative of each member organization,
directs and manages the CFA, and the
new executive acts as the management
committee on behalf of the board.0
CYANAMID REISSUES
FARM SAFETY KIT
Cyanamid Canada Inc. has
reintroduced its Pesticide Safety Action
Kit, which includes a pesticide
respirator, goggles, a PVC safety
apron, disposable ear plugs, and safety
literature.
The PVC gloves offered with the
kit last year have been replaced by
nitrile gloves which provide better
grip, chemical resistance, dexterity,
and durability.
Assembled by the March of
Dimes, the kit still sells at last year's
price of $44.95, less than half the
retail value of the components. No
Cyanamid product purchase is required.
To obtain a kit, send a cheque or
money order along with name, address,
phone number, and number of acres
