Changes to Ministry of Transportation regarding pre -trip inspections
For truck owners, operators and
users, two recent changes regarding
pre -trip inspection reports should be
noted.
1. The 160 -kilometre operating
radius exemption from completing
these reports has been eliminated. and
2. The daily trip inspection report is
now valid for 24 hours.
The requirements for completing
pre -trip truck inspection reports have
changed, effective June 1. 1999. The
most significant change is the
elimination of the 160 kilometre radius
exemption from completing a daily trip
inspection report. Vehicles with a gross
weight or registered gross weight of
4500 kilograms (9,920 lbs.) Or more
will be required to complete a daily trip
inspection report.
A commercial motor vehicle driver
is required to have a valid inspection
report for the truck and any towed
trailers at all times when the vehicle is

they provide.

underway. A limited number of copies
will be printed. This hardcover book will
be an excellent keepsake and record of
the history of south Easthope Township.
The advance sale price of $70,
including GST will be in effect until July
1, 2000. After that date the price will
increase to $80, including GST.
