the public and determined that
visitors paying for admission to the
Show on Tuesday, September 14 or
Wednesday, September 15 may
attend the Show for one more day
free of charge.
Surveys showed that visitors have
simply too much to see in one day at
the Show, especially for those that
want to catch a few of the field
demonstrations, speakers in the
Family Farm Garden tent, and other
programming, as well as making it to
all of the important exhibitors on
their list. All visitors have to do is
visit one of the information booths on
site to get a non -transferable wrist
band. This feature should be
especially attractive for those farmers
travelling long distances that
necessitate staying overnight in the
area, and locals that would like to
break up the Show by coming over
two days.
Farmers can also save $2 off
admission to Canada's Outdoor Farm
Show simply by picking up a coupon
from their local farm equipment
(ORFEDA) dealer. ORFEDA has
been an integral sponsor of Canada's
Outdoor Farm Show since its
inception in 1994.
While en route to to the Show,
travellers near the site's perimeter
can tune into Canada's Outdoor Farm
Show radio at FM 100.1. The
VisitoRadio system is designed to
bring daily programming information
to Show visitors and help familiarize
them with the site before they even
step out of their vehicles.
Dennis Guy of the AgRadio
Network is putting in the
infastructure for the radio
programming, and he will also
produce the content. "This is a
service that's not too difficult to
install, but it will make locating key
points of interest easy for visitors,
and let the Show staff alert them of
new programming as it happens,"
said Guy.
The radio programming, similar to
the format available at major
international airports, will be
available for the three days of the
show, September 14-16. The source
of "Farm Show Radio" will be a
network of low=power FM
transmitters positioned around the
perimeter of the Canada's Outdoor
Farm Show site, each with a listening
