outdoor play area. There will be a
comfort station for nursing mothers
or for toddlers who need to be fed.
Another big entertainment area is
the 15 -acre antique area at the west
end of the Tented City. Here there
will be a large tent with a display
area of pioneer crafts, rooms of a
pioneer home and furniture and tools
used in the early 1900s. Another tent
will house wagons, buggies and cars
that cannot be left outdoors. The
outdoor display will include a saw
mill being powered by a Bell Steam
Engine (built in Seaforth), a
threshing machine, a shingle mill, a
blacksmith shop, a corn binder with
cutting box, a horse -powered log
Antique tractors and equipment
will be on display in the 15 -acre
antique park
cutter and plowing demonstrations.
Inside demonstrations include
quilting, spinning, weaving, rug
hooking, mat braiding, rope making
and wood carving.
It's all part of the huge amount of
activity taking place in every corner
of the Tented City. All the activity
will take place over five days,
September 21-25 then it will be all
over for another year — and for
Huron County people there will be
only the memories of hosting their
fourth, and last IPM of the 20th
