Producers who depend heavily on summer grazing will have to make sound management decisions, to manage their grazing systems, to maximize the benefits to be derived from pastures. To be better equipped to cope with the decisions to be made, here are some tips to guide you to make the best use of your pastures. Following are some tips for Intensive Pasture Systems: 1) Flexibility as to the size of paddocks is important, the emphasis should be on a good perimeter fence. 2) A range of six to eight paddocks seems to work well for many producers. 3) Livestock should be allowed to get over as much of the pasture as early as possible i.e. a quick rotation in the
