well as interested soybean producers
and show -goers will have the
opportunity to hear experts in the
industry speak as well as see the
future varieties of Canadian
soybeans.
For the first year, Advantage Seed
Growers and Processors will show
its top soybean varieties and STS
technology in demonstration plots at
the Outdoor Farm Show.
"We'll be available to discuss our
seed varieties from the newly
registered Ashland winter wheat to
the STS soybean technology," said
Ron van Wyk, co-ordinator at
Advantage Seed.
The company's plot is divided
into two sections with the STS
technology in one and eight soybean
varieties, including two white hilum
varieties, in the other.
"Growers will have an
opportunity to see our new STS
variety which is pending
registration," said van Wyk. "Our
plot will show the benefits of using
this naturally occurring trait."
Advantage Seeds markets several
varieties including 10 soybean, three
winter wheat, one barley, one canola
and one white bean. The company
also has 22 varieties in various stages
of research.
Another addition to the show
this year will mean more
demonstrations of farm
equipment. In an attempt to bring
variety to the field demonstrations at
the show, three different types of
equipment will be demonstrated, not
only once but twice during the show
The demonstrations include spraying
