Jocelyn and Ken deBoer of Lucknow wanted to
expand their dairy operation, but at a cost they
could afford. They added a Targe tie -stall operation
that made use of the existing milk house, bulk tank
and stable -
cleaner. Their
story, in our Profit$
in Dairy section, is
one of two stories
on expanding
dairy operations
as the industry
moves to bigger
units. The stories
of two farm
families prove
growth can be
affordable.

THE MAGAZINE OF THE AGRICULTURAL INDUSTRY
Mike and Cynthia Beretta have chosen what they feel is the
best of both worlds. They run an organic farm near Wingham,
even turning to horses to provide the horsepower on their
farm, yet they also sell the products directly to consumers and
retail outlets as far away as Toronto. Recently they opened a
butcher shop in Brussels to expand their enterprise.
