The Rural Voice, 1996-07, Page 53had great fun covering containers
with co-ordinating papers to add as
catch -alts in a room's scheme.
We've covered hardback lampshades,
made picture mattes, placemats (and
laminated them with mac-tac),
wrapped flower pots, and lined
cupboards and china cabinets, etc.
A designer associate always
covers his large collection of books to
co-ordinate with his decorating motif
... currently all his books are
covered in a faux leather of charcoal
wallcovering.
Also by using wallcovcring there
is no need to despair over Targe scale
gifts in need of wrapping ... select a
suitable pattern for your parcel, use
your glue gun to secure the seams
and adorn with a large scale bow for
the ultimate in designer giftwrap.
(Look for discontinued wallcovering
in bargain bins.)
So many of us despair when we
have leftover wallcoverings but
there's no need since there are so
very many uses for this versat'le
product. It works great as a drop
sheet under other projects. The
reverse side works great for kids' art
projects and drawings. The reverse
side is also a great practice surface
for experimenting with stencils or
blocking. I have this theory:
"Always have at least one extra roll
of any given pattern left over. If you
have it, you'll never need it, but if
you have no leftovers, you'll be sorry
Home Decorating
time and again!"
Wallcoverings, once wet, will
conform to almost any shape you
wish to cover and being available in
so many delightful textures and
patterns, there is no limit to the
1%0" quality
saves you
money ..
