summarize my rambling thoughts.
The bottom line is as follows: North
America is short feed grain stocks and
nobody really knows how high prices
will go. As this is being written, new
crop corn prices are buying more
acres and we could see 83 to 84
million acres. However even at 84
million acres, production could be
less than 10 billion bushels. This
would indicate a stable soybean
acreage of about 61 to 62 million
acres which would hold production at
2.1 to 2.3 billion bushels. Wheat
acreage is still dropping and this will
only serve to maintain high wheat
prices. So, if you are thinking of
ripping up wheat ground and planting
corn or soybeans, take a hard look at
your potential wheat returns.
Finally, with corn prices hovering
at $6/bu., greed is taking over from
need if you aren't a willing seller now.
If you haven't sold all of your old
crop, take a serious look at doing so.0
