Committees working in Perth County
The Political Action Committee
has been keeping in contact with our
members of Parliament. They have
met with both John Richardson and
Bert Johnson on a regular basis.
They are now planning our annual
Member of Parliament meeting.
This is where all directors and
interested members meet with our
Federal and Provincial members of
Parliament to discuss agricultural and
local issues. If any member has an
issue of concern let us know and we
can include it in our brief and
discussions. This committee is also
looking into a workshop on Effective
Lobbying. Give us a call if this topic
interests you.
The Communications committee
held a successful Internet information
night in December. We are looking
at the possibilities of holding another
if the interest is there. We are again
offering a scholarship to one
graduating student in each of the six
high schools in the county. 4-H
jackets will again be sponsored by the
Perth County Federation of
Agriculture to high achievement
members in clubs in Perth County.

been looking at land use planning,
landfills and water taking.
OFA Member Signs
We have been out putting up OFA
member signs at the farm gates of
Perth County members who wish
one. If you were missed, please call

Workshop planned
How to Thrive, Not Just Survive
as a Farm Family - Part 2 will be held
Tuesday, March 5 at the Mitchell
Community Centre, 9:30 a.m. to 3:30
p.m.
Pre -registration is requested by

person or $40 per couple/partnership.
The day will focus on:
• keeping communication lines
open;
• acknowledging the message
before you reply;
• avoiding conversation attitude
killers, and
