JAKE'S PLACE
Written by veteran Blyth writer Ted Johns, (Garrison's Garage, The School
Show, He Won't Come In From the Barn), Jake's Place is about Jake
Palmer's battle for a driveway. The fact that Jake suffers from "Grasshopper
Brain" (an inability to make decisions), and "Lot's Wife Syndrome" (fear of
the future) makes him especially susceptible to New Age Medicine and the
machinations of his new neighbour Dierdre Munsinger.
"Johns has brewed a delightful summer cocktail." Mitchell Advocate
L -R: Trish O'Reilly as Sheilah; Jacklyn Francis as Norah; Barbara
Worthy as Maggie.
THIS YEAR, NEXT YEAR by Norah Harding
"This Year or Any Year, for this Blyth Gem. It's a tremendous first scnpt
and well acted about a family in wartime ... Harding writes in the program
notes — If I have successfully conveyed the warmth and closeness of our
family life in this true story, I shall be content. Be content, Norah }larding.
Be content." London Free Press, July 20, 1995
