The Rural Voice, 1993-11, Page 52HURON County Federation of Agriculture NEWSLETTER Farm Tax Rebate It has been recognized since the late 1940s that education taxes were disproportionately large on farm land. This unfair taxation on farm land was temporarily rectified in 1970 with the Farm Tax Rebate. To attcmpt to get a permanent solution to this inequity through the Fair Tax Commission, Huron County Fcdcration of Agriculture is sending the following resolution to the Box 429, Clinton, Ontario NOM 1L0 519-482-9642 The Rural Voice is provided to all farmers in Huron County by the HCFA. Ontario Federation of Agriculture Convention: "WHEREAS Property Tax Reform has been promised for over 40 years and WHEREAS in 1970 it took a threatened tax revolt to bring about the Farm Tax Rebate THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that if Property Tax Reform isn't dealth with through the Fair Tax Brenda and Jim McIntosh (centre and right) receive the Huron County Federation of Agriculture Award for "Outstanding Contribution to Agriculture" from Bev Brown at the HCFA annual meeting in Seaforth, October 1. ATTENTION! CURLERS!!!
