With all these attractions,
Machines in Motion is laid out like a
farmer's field with corn in the back
field, soybeans in the front field and
hay in another. It makes for lots of
travelling and also like the farmer,
onlookers will be able to travel from
one venue to another by means of the
tractor. Volunteer students will be
hooking up to hay wagons to offer
transportation country style at inter-
vals throughout the day for the dura-
tion of the demonstrations. Students
will also be riding on the wagons to
act as tour guides. Visitors will know
which wagon to take by reviewing a
series of signs that will be put up
along headquarters row complete
with the who, where, what and when
of the Machines in Motion show.
This year's fresh approach to the
machine show means organizers have
a new consideration — safety. By
allowing observers to get close-up to
working combines, harvestors and
balers, there is the ever present threat
that someone could get hurt. It is a
consideration the committee hasn't
taken lightly. During each demon-
stration, there will be a field super-
visor present to carefully safeguard
onlookers and machine operators and
no machine will be allowed to back
up without someone to spot for them.
Moreover, the people demonstrating
the machines will be the dealers
themselves, who arc familiar with the
mechanics of the equipment.
It promises to be a fascinating
show — provided the weather co-
operates! 0
