Opinions expressed herein may not necessarily reflect the views of the Perth County Pork Producers. Life today for most people is so fast -paced that our opinions are often based on perception rather than fact. Some of us take time to read, but for many of us our ideas are formed from hastily -skimmed articles, newspaper editorials, T.V. talk shows, and casual conversations. It is rare that we get the chance to investigate an idea thor- Say yes to pork oughly to see whether it is true or not. This is bad news because a U.S. Live Stock and Meat Board study revealed that 95 per cent of patients said information from physicians has a high level of influence on their diet selection. We need desperately to get up-to-date nutritional information into doctors' hands. A 1960s perception of pork, which some still have, is just not accurate. I feel that our pork board has been moving in exactly the right direction in targeting doctors' offices for mailings of nutritional information.
