The Rural Voice, 1993-04, Page 43To track recent
developments in the
farm machinery field,
The Rural Voice
recently sent a survey
to dozens of
machinery dealers in
midwestern Ontario.
The following
information comes
from those who
replied.
Scott Gilmore
Gilmore Farm
Supply Inc.
Harriston
Main lines: Massey Ferguson, Wil -
Rich, Great Plains, New -Idea
Business trends: Many farmers,
particularly the progessive ones, are
getting out early and pricing
equipment, some of them placing
orders. Many more farmers are
looking at the possibilities of
minimum -till and no -till. The trend to
amalgamations and buy-outs hadn't
affected Gilmore's until the recent
distribution agreement between
Massey Ferguson and AGCO.
Gilmore says he is looking at this
amalgamation in a positive way.
How have conditions in the
past year affected inventory?
Used equipment inventory is
lower than it has been in a long time.
