registered for use
in corn
Cyanamid Canada Inc. has re-
ceived federal registration for the use
of Prowl (pendimethalin) herbicide in
corn. Prowl was registered for use in
onions in 1991.
Prowl controls grassy weeds like
foxtail, fall panicum and barnyard
grass as well atrazine -resistant weeds
such as Iamb's quarters. Cyanamid
will be recommending the use of
tank mixes with its registered
partners Atrazine or Bladex to
control green and yellow foxtail,
barnyard grass, redroot pigweed,
Iambs quarters, ragweed, smartweed
and vclvetleaf. Prowl is also
effective in sequential spray
programs of Prowl followed by a
wide spectrum broadleaf herbicide.
Prowl has excellent application
flexibility. "Prowl's pre -emergent
and early post -emergent application
What's New
timing should prove popular with
corn growers in Ontario and
Quebec," adds George Annette,
Cyanamid's manager of research and
development for Eastem Canada.
