The Rural Voice, 1992-05, Page 22INTRODUCING CANADIAN CUSTOM WATERSTOVE
The Outside, Wood Fired, Hot Water, Central Heating System.
Construction: The C.C.W. is a combination of a specially designed high efficiency
air tight firebox surrounded by an insulated water holding storage tank. Operation:
The C.C.W. automatically controls the air flow into the firebox to keep the stored
water between 120 and 190 degrees F. The hot water is piped into your home or
building and the heat is released through your existing ductwork or radiators.
Efficient: The C.C.W. is equipped with on demand forced draft which means you
will only need to load your unit every 12 to 48 hours depending on your individual
requirements. Because of the unique design of the unit, over 90% of the heat
produced in the firebox is retained by the water. By centrally locating the C.C.W. unit,
additional structures, pool/spas or greenhouses can be heated with the same unit
Farm shops and barns. The optional domestic hot water system may account for
up to 30% saving in your utility costs.

GRAIN MARKETS
FEEDGRAINS
Ontario feed grain prices have
softened slightly because of weaker
Western grain prices. Western barley
has traded as low as $107/mt which is
close to the Ontario barley prices of
last month. As a result, Ontario
barley has dropped to about $95 to
$100/mt FOB farm. Mixed grain is
selling for less than $100/mt FOB
farm. The price of high quality oats
has dropped about $15 to $115/mt
due to a major drop in Winnipeg
futures. However, feed type oats are
holding at the $100/mt mark.
During the first two weeks of
April, funds (A.K.A. Speculators)
have not only liquidated their long
futures positions, but have outright
shorted or sold the markets. With the
low volume seen in grain futures late-
ly, the speculative selling manifested
itself in very large down moves in the
market. The reason the funds started
to sell the corn market was because
of the fact that there was no apparent
bullish news to make the prices
strengthen and the result was a big
negative. Now, we'll have to depend
on spring planting problems or
weather problems later in the season
to rally prices although I still think
the corn market is too low given the
carryout as a per cent of usage. Un-
less more negative news comes out,
the low carryout amount should con-
tinue to support the market and leave
the market vulnerable to any weather
problems.0
