The Rural Voice, 1992-04, Page 7IP tt► FEEDBACK have met a long time timber buyer who is also a water diviner. He said, "John you never need to get lost in the bush, as water veins run north and south and east and west. I'll show you." We both picked the same spot to dig a well, but he then got me to stand on the spot and walked 50 ft. one way, then the other. I had to change my spot a few feet. "That is where you will find the most water," he informed me, "because that is where the two veins cross." He told me if I was lost and there was no sun shining, to use my rods to find North and South. Now do you feel more convinced? By the way, are they Mr. Ian Clarke's sheep on Langside road from Hwy. 86 near Lucknow in your photo "A slice of rural life"?0 John A. Green Liverpool, NS Ed. Note: The sheep are on the farm of Florence Pullen, near Clinton. FARMERS MUST MAKE A CHOICE I was so very impressed with Keith Roulston's column "Ignore Urban Glitz" ,in the February Rural Voice that I just had to write to congratulate him. He sure hit right on the truth of the situation. I like to keep scripts like this around in the house for friends or family to read and also to re -read in spare time. I couldn't agree with him more.0 Florence Lambertus Mildmay, ON P.S. Some farmers want their cake and eat it too. We have been farming nearly all our life, so we understand your reasoning. CLARIFICATION In last month's issue a news item on the meeting of the Perth County Pork Producers on speaker Richard Hiscock made it unclear that Mr. Hiscock operates two farms, one of which has 700 sows while another markets 3000 pigs.
