FIVE NEW DIRECTORS WELCOMED Highlights from Huron County Fed- eration of Agriculture board of directors meeting on October 30, 1991, in Vanas- tra at 8:30 p.m. Twenty-three were present. Five new directors were welcomed to the board of directors: They are Murton Brock, Usborne, Gerald Johns, Usborne, Steve Carruthers, Tuck- ersmith, Walter Mcllwain and John Rodges, Goderich. Four new executive directors were elected to the executive positions: Jeanne Kirkby, Bob Down, Tom Hayter, and Steve Carruthers. These four persons, along with president Brenda McIntosh, first vice president Bill Wallace, and second vice president Nathan Peel make up our new HCFA executive for 1992. HCFA was to sponsore a NISA workshop on two consecutive dates, The new executive of the HCFA consists of, left to right, directorsTom Hayter, Steve Carruthers, second vice president Nathan Peel, director Jeanne Kirkby, president Brenda McIntosh, director Bob Down, and first vice-president Bill Wallace. CENTRAL HURON HIGH SCHOOL, CLINTON — CAFETERIA AGENDA Reports from annual convention Looking at the year ahead Setting goals of HCFA for 1992 EVERYONE WELCOME 64 THE RURAL VOICE Thursday and Friday, November 21 and 22, at the Walton Hall from 10 to 3 each day. Notices were to be put in local papers with telephone numbers for interested callers. A county wide membership canvass will be held for Huron from March 14 to March 20, 1992 ... Fieldman Blaine is starting plans now to organize this can- vass with the help of Heinz Claus, Jeanne Kirkby, and Larry Plaetzer as his committee. OFA signs are going to be erected in Ashfield township this fall. By doing this, Blaine hopes to talk some farmers from Ashfield into possibly helping out with the big canvass next spring. Recently, there have been several annual meetings in surrounding coun- ties, which our executive have been at- tending. Jeanne Kirkby went to Perth county, Ken Scott visited Wellington, Brenda McIntosh was at Grey, and Nathan Peel went to Bruce. Bill Wallace will likely be attending Middlesex, and Bob Down will possi- bly go to Lambton. A motion was made to start holding HCFA board meetings the fourth Wed- nesday of each month, starting for Janu- ary, February, March, and April of 1992. Motion carried.
