ADVICE
application with an MTO office — there
is no registration fee. The certificate or
a copy must be carried in any truck
operated on the highway under that
identification number.
If an operator who requires a CVOR
certificate operates a vehicle without
one, the vehicle permit and licence
plates may be seized and the vehicle
detained until a certificate is produced.
How does the system work? When
any conviction is registered against a
driver or an operator, the court files a
report with MTO, and this information
is entered into the operator's record.
Reportable accident information and
reports of safety defects also go on the
operator's record. If an operator's rec-
ord becomes unsatisfactory, the CVOR
may be suspended or cancelled.

WATCH FRONT END
LOADERS
Farmers and tractor operators are
urged to be careful when operating front
end loaders. The Ontario Farm Imple-
ments Board warns it is possible for the
joystick or lever of the control valve to
stick in any position, without warning.
While this may not occur frequently,
even one occurrence could catch the
operator unaware, and cause a serious,
perhaps fatal, accident.
When raising or lowering afront end
loader, always ensure that the joystick
returns to neutral position when re-
quired, and that the load stops.0
