the topsoil. Usually they can better
afford the cost involved than the
average farmer.
If we continue to force a large sec-
tor of our citizens to raise their fami-
lies in trailer courts, town -houses, and
crowded apartments, we will someday
pay dearly for the social results.
I hope OFA will consider these
things on behalf of members and so-
ciety in general, give some leadership
in policy changes, and impress on our
government that present rules benefit
no one except developers and entre-
preneurs.
Isn't it time for farm organizations
and regulatory bodies to stop moraliz-
ing us into extinction?

LETTER MISLEADING
In the "Feedback" section of the
February issue of The Rural Voice a
letter from a Rodger Brimacombe
from Sundridge is a way off base and
could be very misleading to the
uneducated reader.
As president of the Grey county
Federation of Agriculture in 1979 and
1980 and property section chairman of
the Ontario Fruit and Vegetable Grow-
ers Association, I was provided with
the opportunity to present briefs, meet
government officials, and assist in
forming what is now called the Occu-
piers' Liability Act, 1980 and the
Trespass to Property Act, 1980.
Section 3 of the Trespass to Pro-
perty Act states that if the land is used
for agricultural purposes, is fenced, or
has planted trees less than 2 metres,
then all trespass is prohibited, except
access to the door of a building.
If Mr. Brimacombe has non-agri-
cultural land and it is unfenced, a hun-
ter, or for that matter any person could
be unaware of the property line. In
such a case, it is required to be posted.
My concern from this article is that
the majority of your readers are from
the farm community and may interpret
the letter to apply to farm lands, which
is not the case.
