It is the sellers' responsibility to sell to licensed grain dealers and elevators. They must also ensure that: 1) they receive payment i) within 10 business days of the sale, ii) by 2:00 p.m. of the next business day for grain sold out of storage, iii) at 75 per cent of the current market value when sold on a basis or price later contract. 2) they pick up storage receipts within 45 days if grain is stored. 3) they notify the director or chief in- spector immediately of any non-pay- ment or suspected default. There is a similar program for cattle. The seller must sell to a licensed buyer and report if payment is not received by 2:00 p.m. of the second trading day following the sale.0 SUPPLY -DEMAND LABOUR RESEARCH A project to study the supply, de- mand, and management of year-round labour on Ontario farms is being funded by the Canada -Ontario agricultural em- ployment committee. The committee is formed under a memorandum of understanding be- tween Employment and Immigration Canada and the Ontario Ministry of Agriculture and Food. The project is entitled Human Re- source Management on the Farm: At- tracting, Keeping and Motivating La- bour on Ontario Farms. The objectives of this study are to identify factors af- fecting the supply and demand of per- manent agricultural labour in Ontario and to determine optimum labour man- agement strategies for farmers.
