4 — Perth County Summer Dairy Festival.
Nick Terpstra and family will be your hosts
at their farm. An excellent educational pro-
gram has been arranged. The planning com-
mittee is preparing a Pork BBQ noon meal.
Tickets will be $6 before July 1 and $7 after.
Children under 10 may split a ticket. Call the
Stratford OMAF office for details.
4-5 — Farm Personnel Management School,
Elm Hurst Inn, Ingersoll. This course exam-
ines the principles related to agricultural
personnel management. Wayne Howard
and Ken McEwan are the instructors. The
registration fee is largely financed by the
Ontario Agricultural Training Institute so
the cost is $225, which includes lodging,
meals, and other incidental expenses. Reg-

7 — Festival City Farm Toy Show, 10:00
a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Coliseum, Stratford Fair-
grounds. Some of the major farm toy manu-
facturers, including the Ertl Company will
be displaying their toys. Call Tractor Clas-

8 — Ecological Farm Tour. Starts at 11:00
a.m. at the farm of Lawrence and Mathilde
Andres at Lot 10, Conc. 10, Kincardine Twp.
The Andres have farmed bio -dynamically
since buying the faun 11 years ago. The farm
is 300 acres with 100 head of purebred Hol-
stein cattle. Crops include oats, barley,
winter rye, with lots of hay and pasture.
After lunch (please bring lunch) the tour will
move to the Hack farm at Lot 12, Conc. 6 —
a 500 -acre mixed farm with a cow/calf op-
eration and crops of alfalfa/grass, wheat,
spelt, oats, barley, flax, red clover, oil radish,
and a small amountof winter oats. This is an-
other bio -dynamic farm.
