The Rural Voice, 1990-06, Page 53NEWS FUNDING GRANTED TO FARM WOMEN Farm women's organizations will receive $150,000 in financial assistance under the federal Farm Women's Ad- vancement Program. Sixteen organizations will receive funding for 26 projects. Among these are a series of one -day discussions on the federal Agri -Food Policy Review. The Saskatchewan Women's Agricul- tural Network will receive $6,500 to sponsor evaluation sessions. Then a brief will be prepared by the delegates and presented to the federal govern- ment. The Canadian Farm Women's Net- work will receive $5,000 towards the development of a "talent bank" for farm women. The talent bank's goal is to facilitate the participation of farm women on boards, commissions, and task forces by providing information on potential appointees. The Ontario Farm Women's Net- work will get $8,000 for leadership training. Oxford (Ontario) Women for the Support of Agriculture will receive $900 for membership enhancement. The Farm Women's Advancement Program will also provide $25,000 to the Federated Women's Institute of Canada to develop a one -day workshop for its 41 board members and a three-day strategic planning session for its 11 - member executive. And the funding package includes $13,000 to enable representatives of farm women's groups to attend the Canadian Federation of Agriculture's national conference entitled Broaden- ing Our Horizons: Canadian Farm Women in Decision-making," sched- uled for early 1991.0 THE DAIRY MENU Dairy producers can increase pro- ductivity by paying attention to the or- der in which feeds are offered to their cows, according to Agriculture Canada research.
