BRUCE COUNTY
FARMER HONOURED
One of Bruce County's farm leaders,
Grant Collins of R. R. 1, Kincardine,
was chosen as the winner of this year's
Tommy Cooper Award last month.
Collins was presented with the
award, given to a Bruce or Grey County
resident to mark outstanding contribu-
tions to agriculture, at the Grey County
Federation of Agriculture's annual
Meet the Members luncheon last month.
There were nine nominees.
The 32 -year-old award is named
after a former Grey County agricultural
representative who served the area for
40 years.
Collins, president of the Bruce Fed-
eration of Agriculture in 1987 and 1988,
has also been president of the Bruce
County Corn Producers, a director and
the treasurer of the Ontario Red Wheat
Association, a committeeman for the
Soybean Growers Marketing Board and
the Canola Growers Association, and a
career -long member of the Bruce Soil
and Crop Improvement Association.
A member of the Bruce Agricultural
Awareness Committee, Collins has also
