The Rural Voice, 1990-04, Page 77NEWS NEW LIVE LAMB GRADER RATES The District 2 Sheep Club has nego- tiated new rates that will be charged to all sheep producers in Grey and Bruce counties for live -lamb grading services. Effective April 1, 1990, grading will be $50 for the first hour on the farm and $20 for each additional half hour. Incentive grants are available to those enrolled in the sheep development program of Red Meat II. Producers who qualify will receive $3 per inspected lamb graded by approved live lamb graders, until March 31, 1992. Now all classes of lambs, from 45 to 130 pounds, will be graded under this program, ex- cept medium and common lambs and feeder lambs. Approved live lamb graders for District 2 are: Kathy Velocci, 519-353- 5530 (Bruce County, Grey west of Hwy. 6); Neil Metheral, 705-466-2169 (most of Grey); and Dirk Randeraad, 519-941- 5014 (Proton, Egremont, and Nor- manby townships). The live lamb grading program will assist producers in developing an awareness of properly finished lambs. Graded lambs, paint -branded by the grader, will enable buyers to identify those of superior quality readily. The weighperson rates have been harmonized for Grey and Bruce coun- ties. The first hour on the farm will cost the producer $35 and subsequent half hours $5. SUPER ALL TRACTION TRACTOR TIRES Long bar/long bar design offers more uniformly stable tread bars for less squirm and longer wear. More even wear means a smoother ride with less vibration over the life of the tire. Because short bars are not as stable as long bars, they squirm more and wear faster. Irregular wear leads to increased problems with ride and vibrations. HAUGH TIRE INC. Farm Mobile Service Hwy. 4 South 265 Thames Rd.
